Joel D. Jacob was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He displayed a talent for illustration and music early in life. His gift was nurtured by his parents in the form of his first camera. With a red, handheld Nikon in hand, he set out to document his friendships and achievements in the form of still shots. Joel continues to share his creativity through multiple mediums throughout the artistic spectrum and intends to change the world one picture at a time.

He attended LaGrange Senior High School and University of Louisiana at Lafayette shortly after. After a year in the city of Lafayette, he returned home to pursue a degree in Graphic Design at McNeese State University. Joel D. Jacob currently resides in Lake Charles, Louisiana and has transitioned from a career in Graphic Design to a career in Classical Voice Performance. Though photography remains an important part of his life, music is his first love.
